Sturdy and dependable. Will never use paper platesThese little plates are great! I got them to feed the cats. They are durable and just the right size. However, this eco-friendly company, which supports the ocean, sent these plates wrapped in tiny plastic bags! I ordered 480 plates and every set of 20 is wrapped in a non-recyclable plastic bag with a plastic twist-tie! What a lot of garbage to go into a landfill or....the ocean! I get it if they, for whatever reason, have to be bagged, but every 20 plates?! Why not just 1 bag for them all? Or no bag! :-(I thought I could use the plates instead of bowls, but they aren't as sturdy. I use them for feral cat food. The plates were good, but for my needs.I detest dried on cat food and cleaning it up. However, I also don't want something that is clogging up the environment. This takes care of it.They're pretty flimsy but they do the job. I've thrown a few in the compost bin to see how they'd do and they're composing :)I noticed that I was washing dog bowls A LOT - we have four chihuahuas and dish soap is not good for dogs so I have been feeding them on these plates for years. I reuse them for maybe two days and then recycle them orburn them in our fire pit.I use these for feeding outdoor cats and they work really well for that. They are plenty stiff enough that they won't fold in your hand. If I was to nitpick it would only be the color. They look a little dingy for guests.Great product. Very sturdy plates. Much more sturdy than your typical paper plates, but of course not plastic coated. What ironic is that although these are bamboo and therefore environmentally friendly, they use very wasteful and environmentally unfriendly packaging, as you can see from the photo. Each 20 or so plates are separately packaged in their own plastic bag with their own twist tie and label. If the manufacturer reads this, save your money and just put the plates in two bags. These small plates are really surprising ;PROS;They are rigid (they do not bend with 2 quarters of " small uncrusted sandwiches " )Do not fall apart as soon as they are slightly wet ( Indeed, I did the test by putting water in them for 10 minutes and they passed the test successfully ! Well I know, during the lockdown, sometimes we do things that we wouldn't normally ...lol )They hold up well to a stainless steel knife or forkIn short, a very pleasant and unexpected surprise for the asking price. Beyond all expectations.I really should have bought more ...CONS;I am still looking for them except perhaps;-that I didn't remember that 6 inches was so small ...-it would be a good initiative to use the international measurement reference i.e. the metric systemI was looking for a compostable plate and am really happy I found these! The price is excellent and the plates held up very well for our casual dessert night potluck. The first thing I noticed was that the plates were very strong and rigid. They are a little on the small side at 6”, but they still worked fine for our purposes. My only complaint is that they come wrapped in a plastic wrapper. Having compostable packaging is something that should be a no brainer on an such an eco friendly product. These are very handy plates and since they are natural and biodegradable removes some of the guilt for disposable plates. They hold up well, I actually reuse one at work several times before throwing out. Beware if you put it in the fridge with something that has moisture though they can absorb it and will weaken but still was usable.Because of ill health I found these plates safe & wonderful for feeding my two cats AND they were only $1.20 for 20 plates making them very affordable. WHAT HAPPEN???? Now they are $4.35 for 20. I can't afford this and I cannot stand in my kitchen for very long. The other paper plates are not safe (chemicals) so now I have to figure something else out. So disappointed.Small plates for small treats. Don't leak. If there is sticky stuff or oil no dishes to wash. Just toss them away. If still clean I save and use again. Sturdy.
